About the Supervisor

Vicky Oakes
St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections
Vicky Oakes has been the Supervisor of Elections since her appointment by Gov. Rick Scott Sept. 6, 2011. She ran unopposed and was elected in 2012 to a four year term. Prior to her appointment, Vicky served for 23 years as the Assistant Supervisor of Elections in St. Johns County.
Vicky has committed the last 24 years of her life to ensuring the highest integrity of the election process and serving the voters of St. Johns County. “I promise to always do my very best to serve the voters and continue the tradition of flawless elections in St. Johns County,” Vicky says. “I am committed to insuring the right of every voter to cast their ballot and to know that it is counted.”
Vicky currently is a member of:
• The Election Center National Assoc. of Election Officials
• The Florida State Assoc. of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE)
• Toastmaster
As part of her devotion of the position and office as the Supervisor of Elections, she continues to build upon her expertise by continually expanding her experience by attending:
• Florida Certified Elections Professional Courses (FCEP)
• Annual and Bi-annual Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) conferences and Division of Elections workshops
• The Elections Center, a National Association of Election Officials CERA courses
• Canvassing Board Workshops
Vicky is a native Floridian, born in Duval County. Vicky moved to St. Augustine in 1983 and has resided here for 30 years
