Update Signature
It is imperative that your signature be kept current at all times, especially if you vote by absentee ballot. The Supervisor of Elections must compare the signature on a voter’s record with the signature contained on an absentee ballot certificate, and if the two do not match, the absentee is not counted, according to section 101.68, Florida Statutes.
| How: | Use a Florida Voter Registration Application Form completing all required blocks per instructions. |
| When: | At any point that there is a significant change in your signature or identifying “mark.” |
Update Name or Political Party
In order to change your name on your voter record due to marriage or other legal process, or if you wish to change your political party, you must notify the Supervisor of Elections office.
| How: | Provide a signed, written notice with your date of birth or voter registration number to the Supervisor of Elections. You may also fill out a Florida Voter Registration Application Form and mail it to our office or visit any of our agencies and they will forward it to the Supervisor of Elections Office. |
| When: | Name changes can be made at any time. The registration book closes for party changes 29 days before a primary election. Make sure to submit your party change prior to the book closing for primary elections. |
Update Address
If you are currently registered to vote and have moved within St. Johns County or you are moving into St. Johns County from another Florida county, you must notify the Supervisor of Elections Office.
| How: | Notification can be made by phone fax or email, and must include your date of birth. You may also provide signed written notice or fill out a Florida Voter Registration Application Form and mail it to our office or visit any of our agencies and they will forward it to the Supervisor of Elections Office. |
| When: | Notify the Supervisor of Elections Office of your address change at any time, up to and including Election Day. The law requires that you vote in your new precinct in which you are a legal resident. |
